Terry-White Race Turns Red Over Husker Tickets
Print This Article
The Nebraska Republican Party’s first shot at Democratic Congressional Candidate Tom White has apparently backfired.
Clearly hoping to dig up dirt on White the GOP posted White’s federal financial disclosure report, which is a public document, on the Nebraska GOP Web site. The GOP then offered two free Nebraska football tickets to whoever comes up with what the party’s Website called, “…the most useful information”.
But White’s Republican opponent, Nebraska Congressman Lee Terry, has asked Republican State Chairman Mark Fahleson to drop the ticket reward.
Terry’s campaign manager David Boomer, tells Nebraska Watchdog, Terry believes Fahleson has every right to post White’s financial report, but wants Fahleson, “… to leave it at that…the tickets should be dropped.”
White, a Nebraska State Senator from Omaha, tells Nebraska Watchdog Terry has done, “…the gracious and proper thing.”
According to White the GOP’s ticket giveaway, “…stooped to a trickiness and nastiness not usual in Nebraska politics.”
As for Terry’s request that the GOP end the ticket deal, Fahleson tells Nebraska Watchdog that no decision has been made.
